THE HISTORY OF OUR SCHOOL

History of high school in Kovacica includes period of full four decades. In that time this school has not changed its name, but it has changed very often its education, directions or profiles.

First, since 1962 to 1969 in Kovacica there was the Economic school. This school has transformed and became high school in 1967, under the name of ''Mihajlo Pupin'' and it was functional with two directions of education school; with social-linguistic and matemathic direction. Then, everybody wanted to have high school because it has given more possibilities in later education. Students with high school education would have wider education. With high school, they could get at any university, which they could not do with the Economic school, because it was directed and has given less possibilities.
In 1974 high school has grown into Educational center. Mutual middle education was 2 years. After that students could continue the next 2 years of profiled education which had its branches: cultural, law, economic, construction, woodwork, leatherwork, metalwork and agronomic.

Since 1987 to 1990 there was high school with matemathic, agricurltural, metal, woodwork, and leatherwork profile ''Mihajlo Pupin''.

Finally in 1990 Kovacica's high school is attended by the first renewed generation of students of general education.
